Good features, minor hiccup

I recently subscribed to Kyte's Pro Plan, mainly for the Inventory Management Software and Sales Reports. The inventory tracking is quite robust, and the reporting gives a decent overview of sales trends, which is helpful. I did run into a small issue integrating my specific receipt printer; it took a bit of back-and-forth with support to get it working properly. They were responsive, but it wasn't plug-and-play. For the price, especially with the annual plan discount, it's good value, but they could improve printer compatibility out of the box.

Easy to use POS

I tried out the Kyte Mobile POS System last month for my little craft business. Setting it up was pretty straightforward, even for someone like me who's not super techy. I liked how I could manage orders right from my phone. It just made things so much easier during a busy weekend market. Definitely a good experience overall.

Reliable for my business needs

This isn't my first time using Kyte; I've had their service for over a year now. I upgraded to the plan with Multi-user Access a few months ago, and it's been just as reliable as my previous experience with their basic POS. What keeps me coming back is the consistency. Every time I've needed to check stock with their Stock Alerts or generate a quick sales report, it just works. The interface hasn't changed drastically, so there's no learning curve with updates, which is a big plus for a small business owner. It's a solid tool that I depend on daily.

How secure is Kyte for customer data and all my sales info? Should I be worried about privacy?

M Matt B. 4 weeks ago
I haven't had any issues. They use standard encryption and seem pretty serious about data protection. No weird breaches or anything that I've heard of.

It seems as secure as any other cloud-based POS system out there. I trust them with my business data, it's pretty standard stuff like PCI compliance and data encryption.

I'm looking for a referral code for Kyte if anyone has one they want to share! Trying to save a few bucks.

R Robert 1 month ago
Check their website or sometimes people post them on small business subreddits. I got one from a friend and it gave us both some credit, I think.

I don't have one right now, but they do have referral programs. Keep an eye out, sometimes they email them to existing users too.

Thinking about switching from Square POS to Kyte. Anyone made that jump? What are the biggest pros/cons you noticed?

K Kyle Taylor 3 weeks ago
I moved from Square to Kyte about 6 months ago. Kyte feels a bit more inventory-focused which I needed. Square was good for just sales, but Kyte's catalog and variations management is better for my clothing business. The reporting is also pretty solid.

For me, Kyte's offline mode was a big win over Square, since my internet can be spotty. Square always felt a bit more polished on the payments side though, if that's your main thing.

Hey, wondering if anyone's actually used the barcode scanner feature on Kyte? Is it any good or just a gimmick?

D Daniel Perez 1 month ago
Yeah, I use it all the time with my phone camera. Works pretty well for quick stock checks and adding items. Not as fast as a dedicated scanner obviously, but totally usable for my small shop.

It's decent. I wouldn't rely on it for super high volume scanning, but for daily inventory updates or adding new products, it gets the job done without needing extra hardware.

Can you actually use Kyte completely offline for sales, and then it syncs up when you get internet back? Or does it need to be online constantly?

S Sam J. 5 days ago
Yep, it works offline. I've used it at farmers markets where signal is terrible. It saves everything locally and then uploads once you're back online. Super handy.

It does work offline, which is a lifesaver. Just make sure your inventory is synced when you *do* have internet, so you're not selling something you don't have.
